Each year, Idealis Legal Recruitment publishes its Salary Guide, drawing on the deep expertise and market insight of our legal search consultants. This report provides up-to-date compensation data for key legal roles across the industry. The 2025 edition focuses on General Counsels, Legal Directors, and Chief Legal Officers at both national and multinational companies operating in Chile.
For the first time in a specialized salary report, it also includes average compensation data for Legal Managers, Senior Legal Counsels, and other second-tier leadership roles within corporate legal departments.

Salaries are expressed in U.S. dollars (USD) as monthly net amounts. Variable income and other potential benefits are excluded.
We can highlight the following key conclusions:
01.
The main drivers of compensation include industry, company size, whether the company is regulated, and whether the role falls within the legal department’s “first” or “second tier” of leadership. As in 2024, the mining sector continues to dominate with the highest salaries, closely followed by the financial and banking industries. In third place, large technology companies have overtaken the energy sector, positioning themselves as top payers. A common denominator is that these tend to be highly regulated industries.
02.
This edition shows a clear correlation between regional roles and higher compensation. General Counsels with regional responsibilities and broader scope earn on average 30% more than their counterparts holding local roles. At the higher percentiles, this increase can reach up to 40%.
03.
As a general rule, General Counsels have received salary adjustments above the inflation rate (CPI).
